Big Data is not to blame — the truth is, Big Data is just a lot of data. Bad analysis is bad analysis, and there are many examples where good analysis combined with large volumes of information have been used to gain good insight.

Lots of Data (Terabytes or Petabytes). Big data is the term for a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications. The challenges include capture, storage, search, sharing, transfer, analysis and visualization.

How Hadoop deals with structured data is arguably the most important debate happening in the Hadoop community today. There are many competing SQL-on-Hadoop technologies.

Apache Hadoop is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of commodity computers using a simple programming model. It is an Open-source Data Management with scale-out storage & distributed processing. Hadoop can handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data more efficiently than the traditional enterprise data warehouse. Because Hadoop is open source and can run on commodity hardware, the initial cost savings are dramatic and continue to grow as your organizational data grows. Additionally, Hadoop has a robust Apache community behind it that continues to contribute to its advancement.
